Lucky for YOU That's What I LIKE

I definitely know what I like. I have been asked to share my daily routine but I feel that every day for me is a little different. I'm all over the place all the time. But, I can definitely share my latest faves as far as beauty. I literally just went through my make-up box to TRASH a few things and to simplify it all. Make-up certainly enhances your beauty. Over the past few weeks I've gotten tired of wearing a lot and really want to wear a lot less.

I'm LOVING my new foundation!!! I love that all I wear is this foundation and no powder (unless I want to but don't need it). Matte is great for those who get a little oily.

I am a big supporter of Better Than Sex Mascara and I always suggest this one. I'm going to have to make a trip to Ulta tomorrow and this is on my list among other things. You don't help anyone or do anything without your mascara HA!

I have been enjoying my Pureology products for Platinum blondes. I am getting some Nectar tomorrow! Basically I think all the products are good! I believe in good hair products and feel this isn't the area to skip.

I think eye brows frame your face and I definitely notice other peoples eyebrows. I never think my own look good but I've had (strangely enough) guys say they like mine lol. Clearly they are observant. Patrick HATES thick eyebrows. Every time we watch this one show he always says her eyes brows drive me NUTS. I think they can be VERY distracting and I recently noticed mine are too dark so I'm going down a shade but I do like this one so I'm sticking with it.
Lastly, I need a new under eye concealer. I have used Tarte in the past and I need a new shade. I'm thinking about searching for this one tomorrow. I think you can't go wrong with a Tarte product.

I saw this on Pinterest and it made me laugh.
HA!! I will not blog next week because we (us girls on this blog) are heading out Friday to Asheville for a WILD AND CRAZY girls weekend/bachelorette weekend which is another reason I have to get my make-up bag up to date. With all the recent talk among our friend snapchat group I'm quite excited yet scared. Ladies, I do have to make it back alive to the three little hams HA HA!

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of this beautiful weekend. We are trying out a new local burger joint tomorrow after church! YAS!!!!

Hugs & Kisses,
Dana

Lived in & Breaking Rules

Happy Monday! Hope everyone had a great weekend. It was BEAUTIFUL here this weekend. Seriously spring has sprung....just waiting on the flowers to start.

Two weeks ago, I got my hair cut. Salon days are my favorite. I love to have someone's hands in my hair...ask my husband. He told me if he could hire someone to play with my hair all day he would. (Kath, if you're reading, I want some hair play please when I see you in 2 weeks. HAHA) It seriously gives me endorphins like no other. I usually do a cut and color on separate days... one. because hello its EXPENSIVE. (One thing I do not skimp on is my hair. Never have; never will. I mean when someone stops you to ask who does your hair...you know you are going to the right place.) And two...doing balayage does not require as much upkeep. You can literally get your color done 2x/year depending on what you have.

I have a guy who cuts my hair & a girl who colors, and they are both AMAZING. They are super technical and perfectionists to their craft. We got to talking about hair and how the buzzword for hair these days is "lived in." You see it everywhere...the runway, red carpet, talk shows, etc. Long are the days of super smooth sleek hair in my opinion. Give me a messy wave/curl & LOTS of texture. I think the prettiest looks are those that just look so natural and not so stuffy. I LOVE a soft look.

lip color: Clinique

If you are looking to achieve a soft/undone/lived in look, curl your hair away from your face. Start mid shaft and leave about an inch of hair sticking out the curling iron. Once it's all curled, add some texturizing spray (my absolute favorite, holy grail) & tousle with your hands/fingers. The wind was crazy when I took this so one side had fallen a bit, but then again, isn't that the beauty of the look?

Also, I broke the rules Friday and wore WHITE JEANS. When it's close to 70 and the sun is shining high and it feels and looks like spring...sorry, doing it. One thing I have really come to agree more with is losing those silly rules of when to wear what. I think white jeans should be around for whenever you want to wear them as long as the rest of the outfit works with the season. Style (hair or clothing) is custom to you.

If you have President's Day off, I envy you. I am anxiously counting down the days until I am headed to Asheville for our girl's bachelorette. All of my bff's together & all #living it up....you are bound to have some good content to read in about 2 weeks. HA!

Big Texas love,
Haley

Tan, Tattoo, & Time

What a great week this has been!! Valentine's Day was very fun and Patrick and I managed to squeeze in TWO week night dates alone together which is pretty impressive. I did mention in my last blog about a possible red tattoo so I will share. I got a lot of messages that I teased and never posted a photo of it. I didn't get red but a dark pink. I still can't believe I went through with it and it did hurt really badly. NO MORE but it is done. I guess YOLO (you only live once) but if you do it right then once is enough ; )
(Target swimsuit! Who else is ready for pool and beach days??!!!!)

Speaking of warmer weather...everyone looks better with a little color. I reached out to my facebook and Instagram followers for some advice on what they use. I also tried out my own new product and I love them so far.
I first was not impressed because I thought there was no way these would work but this morning I woke up with a pretty nice tan. I did use three towels but for the price of it being two or three tans for $10 then I'd say that is pretty good.

I definitely will try the other recommendations. Here is a list for all who want to try something new that has good reviews. Jergens Natural Glow Sunless Tanning Mousse, Arbonne's Self Tanner, Rodan and Fields, Ulta Brand Continuous Spray, St. Tropez, and Fake Bake.

I will share more about this as I experiment over the next few months before summer. Either way I'm sunscreening it up because I have had a big scar on my back from a sun spot. I also get my skin checked every 6 months. Do it ladies!

Plus, we want to aim for this goal and that means the sun isn't our friend....Oh Christie!!

Come on ladies! Work what your Mama gave ya!

Time...is there ever enough time in the day? Every day I'm literally chasing my tail. I am really trying to let some things go but it is hard for the perfectionist in me. I can sometimes choose housework over the kids but I need to choose fun with my kids more. Cecilia said this week, "Mommy you are always busy." It really hurt. I do feel that she and I spend a lot of time together reading, talking about girly things and watched the red carpet and beginning of the Grammy's together Sunday night which was beyond hilarious from her perspective. But, I'm still never going to be able to spend enough hours in the day with the three little hams. They are VERY clingy to me. They cry if I EVER leave them and usually cheer right up but they definitely notice when I'm not around. I guess I should just enjoy that because one day they might not notice when I'm not around them. Priorities!
My tattoo is the Leo symbol...a Lion. I am definitely a protector of my family, my love, and all that includes. I think we as women are so hard on ourselves. We tend to hold a lot more pressure and I think a lot of times that is put on by other women. It is tough being a woman...poor Cecilia. I'm glad she is a little spicy...maybe that will help her!

Well I hope everyone enjoys the long weekend. We really enjoyed having our friends with us this weekend. We are going to enjoy a much needed movies in bed kind of Sunday!!

Love from The Thrill, xoxo-D Mama

The secret of great style is to feel good in what you wear.

I was quiet last week and I do apologize. This week I thought I would share how I keep my outfits casual yet still feeling chic or put together if you will. I work from home so 99% of the time if you knocked on my door, I have zero make up on, messy hair that may or may not be brushed, and I probably have workout clothes on. I am 100% okay with this and sometimes I go out in public (let's be real it's either Target or Sam's) like this. GASP! Why? Because I really could care less and I'm not out to impress anyone but my husband. You think I look rough, that's fine. #RealLife This isn't to say that I don't take pride in myself, but I am surely not going to waste a full face of makeup and a good outfit.

So on weekends, when we go out to run errands or grab lunch or get a coffee, I like to pull myself together yet still be comfortable. This weekend I pulled the below look together. We went out to shop and ended up at a favorite spot for Rose and nachos!

Cute tee
Comfy pumps
Big Sunnies
& a fun purse

This outfit was insanely comfortable but at the same time pulled together. I love a cute graphic tee like this one. I think some fun earrings & some pumps instantly takes this up a notch or two. These Toms are sooooo cute and sooo comfy. The heel is just high enough but short enough to keep your feet feeling good. I can't wait to pair them with a dress this spring.

Also, distressed jeans. I have a few too many pairs in my closet & one more pair on the way. Sorry not sorry! They give an instant edgy look, and I think any woman could pull off some form of distressed denim whether it be an unfinished hem or just a little rip around the pocket. Get you some!!

Even though I don't have little babies running around, I feel like this is a ridiculously easy look to pull off for a momma and I would classify this as my "momiform" if I had children. Add a hat to it if you are one day too many on the dry shampoo.

So how do you take a casual outfit and kick it up a notch? I love seeing how women style their "casual." Or what's your "uniform?"

Have a great Monday!

XOXO,
Haley

Fashion, Love & Something RED

Want to know who I'm married to? I'm basically married to Jack in This Is Us. Patrick is that husband who would literally do ANYTHING to make me happy. He has always been that way. I am OBSESSED with this show. Are y'all watching?! I can't believe I like it because I usually don't like dramas but it is GOOD.

This week I tried to take the whole OOTD (Outfit Of The Day) pics. Okay so I did it twice but basically I noticed I wear a LOT of black!!! How would you describe your fashion? I'm going to start paying closer attention to my "style." I think I would describe it as edgy glamour. I'm basically on that mom budget where all your money goes to your kids and whatever is left over is what you spend on yourself and you learn to recycle and reinvent clothes-HA!

Valentine's Day is this week and having three kids means 3 different school snacks (don't forget what snacks go to which class) and lots of Valentine's. I don't like candy so it just annoys me to see it all. I've NEVER eaten candy even as a child. I guess that is a good thing.

I'm getting something for Valentine's Day..it is red and it is permanent. I guess you could guess. Patrick is going to go and hold my hand because I have a feeling it is going to HURT. Stay tuned!

I think Rocco NEEDS one of these, y'all!!! Right?!
Hmmmm....better get the hubby on it ; )

Enjoy LOVE week!!!!! :)

xoxo,
Dana

You Only Get Out, What You Put In

Happy Sunday!

Apparently some football game comes on tonight! Go commercials! No chicken wings here....I'm thinking it is a shrimp and grits kind of night. Lady GaGa please keep the politics out of it. She says she has dreamed of this moment since she was 4 years old. Okay then make it ALL ABOUT YOU. I wouldn't want anyone coming out to sing with me and it would be the DURNA SHOW! I am a Leo so my personality is already a confident and self assured one so yep....keep attention on those performing skills!

Last night, two of my best friends and I were discussing our signs. I have secretly been wanting a second tattoo that kind of encompasses my personality/sign but I'm still deciding. I told them how my horoscopes are ALWAYS spot on. Even in high school I'd read them each morning and mine were always right. This past week, I became sick and my horoscope told me I'd become sick. WEIRD RIGHT? If you ever read the Leo description..just know that's me. It is 100% who I am as a person. I don't know what else to tell ya. HA! JLO is a leo too so I say she is my spirit animal. But, I find it VERY attractive when a guy has a tattoo on his arm. I don't like the fully tatt'd guys but my tastes have definitely changed as I've gotten older. Love is in the eye of the beholder.

Anyways, we are on Chapter 2 of 12 for this NEW YEAR! Good reminder that you get out what you put in. You can't want what someone has and not be willing to put in the work that they put in each day. A conversation I had with a girlfriend who was not thrilled with her recent weight gain and her relationship. I mentioned things to do to change it and she said "ugh that is so much work." UMM YEAH! She makes me laugh but yes you can't expect love if you aren't willing to give it and that includes showing your body love (or pain...same difference ha!).

Effort goes a long way. Every little thing adds up even when you don't think it does.

Can't wait to see what this week will bring! Enjoy your day! I will leave you with this weeks song I liked! Maybe I will try to do that each week!

Love to All,

Dana
